New emergency food pantry in southwest Medford
Medford, August 14, 2017: ACCESS’ commitment to addressing hunger needs within Jackson County just got a boost with the addition of a new food pantry. Iglesias Nueva Vision Food Pantry that is now open on the third Saturday of every Month from 12 – 3 p.m. at 1294 Peach Street in Medford.
“We’re excited to announce the addition of a much-needed, new emergency food pantry in southwest Medford — specifically one that will serve the Hispanic community,” says ACCESS Nutrition Director Philip Yates.
Saturday, Aug. 19 is the next date Iglesias Nueva Vision Food Pantry will be open. Approximately 300-400 people are expected to be served by this new pantry. Consistent and reliable bicultural volunteers are needed. Those interested in volunteering can call (541) 774-4315 or email ckline@accesshelps.org.
ACCESS’ 24 emergency food pantries throughout Jackson County supply people with a 3 – 5 day supply of food. ACCESS has already provided over 2 million pounds of food to more than 12,000 of the most vulnerable people in the community in 2017. To receive assistance through an Emergency Food Box Program, a household must have an income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level:

As the Community Action Agency of Jackson County, Oregon, ACCESS has been helping Jackson County residents break the cycle of poverty since 1976. With a focus on education, ACCESS helps people through economic crisis by guiding them through changes in habits to help them become self-sustaining.
