Valore a su hijo(a) al conectarse con la atención de salud

El Día del Niño es una oportunidad para celebrar a nuestros niños y enfocarnos en hacerlos sentirse especiales. Mientras celebramos a los niños, también es un buen momento para pensar en valorar su salud.
Cuando los niños son bebés, los padres pasan mucho tiempo en el consultorio del médico. Los vacunamos y revisamos su crecimiento. Sin embargo, cuando nuestros hijos crecen, a menudo solo los llevamos al médico cuando están enfermos.
También es importante tener un contacto regular con un médico para los niños de más edad. Una visita preventiva anual es un buen momento para revisar la salud general de los niños y hacerle preguntas a su médico. Esto también ayuda a los niños a sentirse más cómodos con su médico. Estas visitas preventivas están cubiertas para los miembros de Jackson Care Connect.
La salud dental también es importante. Ir al dentista al menos una vez al año es una de las mejores decisiones de salud que puede tomar. Esta primavera, Jackson Care Connect estará ofreciendo evaluaciones dentales gratuitas para los miembros de todas las edades en Starting Strong (Comienzo Fuerte). Estas se llevarán a cabo los jueves de 12 a 6 p. m., en 702 W Main Street en Medford. Los higienistas dentales estarán ahí para ofrecer evaluaciones, barniz de flúor y selladores dentales. El Día del Niño is a chance to celebrate our children, and focus on making them feel special. As we honor children, it’s a great time to think about valuing their health, too.
When kids are babies, parents spend a lot of time in the doctor’s office. We get their vaccines and check their growth. When our kids are older, however, we often only take them to the doctor when they are sick.
It’s important to have regular contact with a doctor for older kids, too. An annual wellness visit is a good time to check a child’s overall health, and ask your doctor questions. This time also helps kids get more comfortable with their doctor. These wellness visits are covered for Jackson Care Connect members.
Dental health is also important. Seeing a dentist at least once a year is one of the best health decisions you can make. Jackson Care Connect is hosting free dental screenings for members of all ages this spring at Starting Strong. They will be Thursdays from 12-6 p.m. at 702 W Main Street in Medford. Dental hygienists will be there for screenings, fluoride varnish and dental sealants. Members can also get connected to a dentist. Call 541-494-1004 for more information.
